Hello readers! Happy holidays from Next Course!
This week we are taking a short break from our regular postings of the Course Series. At this time I wanted to focus on charity and donations. While there are plenty of good options for volunteering and donating your time or other goods, I wanted to give a list of things you can do individually to help at this time of year.
- call up your local homeless shelter or food bank and ask what items they are short on
- donate money to your favorite charity or a food bank near you
- take unneeded clothes, toys, etc. to Goodwill, the Salvation Army, a shelter, or any other facility in need
- foster a family for the holidays (buying gifts for the children of families in need)
- much more!
These are just a few of the ways that you can help individually over the holidays however it is important to remember that the issues these actions address are present 24/7 all year long. Consider creating a long-term plan of ways in which you can help give back to the community in which you live.
